Engage ARt is an app that uses augmented reality to tell your city’s artistic, educational, and historical stories in a beautiful and engaging way.
If you’ve ever played Pokemon Go, you’ve experienced augmented reality. Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience of the real world augmented by computer generated images through your smartphone or other device. It enables you to see your surroundings enhanced by digital attractions on your screen.
The app will be available on Google Play and the App Store September 8. Click here on your android device, or here on your iPhone to download the app.
Here’s a full list of phones that can run AR: https://developers.google.com/ar/discover/supported-devicesThe phones on this list should all be able to run our app. Phones that are unable to run AR will probably not be able to find our app in the store. If they are sent a link to download it, they may be able to force Engage ARt to download, but the app will not function correctly. In general, these phones will not be able to run AR:
Engage is free to play, there is no charge to download the app.
Click get started and select sign up to create an account. If you already have an account, log in using your email and password. If you forgot your password, select forgot password and you’ll receive an email with instructions to reset your password to the email account you signed up with.

Make sure it’s bright enough outside, your phone needs light to identify the location where the AR attraction should load. The app does not work at night. Make sure your location services and data are on. To learn how to turn on your location services, click here if you have an iPhone or here if you have an android device.
When in camera mode, select the camera or video camera toggle and hit the large circle to begin recording to taking photos.
The app uses minimal mobile data when directing you to an experience, about the same amount Google Maps might use. Downloading the app will also use data, so make sure you’ve downloaded and updated the app on wifi before you head out to see the attractions!
